Week Five: Fire Safety

RRIIIINGGG!

Five little firefighters are about to eat dinner when the alarm bell sounds. Off they go, racing through the streets to put out a fire. Soon everyone’s safe . . . but where’s Cleo the cat?

MEEOOW! The five firefighters rescue Cleo. At last they can eat their dinner and get a little rest—until the alarm sounds again!

WEE-OOO-WEE-OOO-WEE-OOO! Here come the Firefighter Duckies!

Frank Dormer is at it again with this quack-out-loud silly story, full of wacky charm and perfect for little duckies of all dispositions.

The Firefighter Duckies are brave and strong. They rescue:
Gorillas in chef hats!
Whales in trees!
Dinosaurs on bicycles!

But when the emergencies requiring their attention become a little overwhelming, the Firefighter Duckies realize that they don’t have to be brave and strong to be helpful and kind.

Today is Busy Bus’s very first field trip! He takes the children to a fire house, where they meet Engine Four, a big, shiny, red firetruck. Engine Four has a hose to put out fires, a ladder to reach tall buildings, and a loud and impressive siren. Busy Bus has none of these things. Will the children still like him? This darling picture book offers a gentle exploration of jealousy and a reminder that we each have our own unique talents that make us special.

Friends Fire Truck and Dragon demonstrate what a good team they make at campfires, cookouts, birthday parties, and more, but in unexpected and unimpressive ways.

Burning toast, a sizzling sidewalk, volcanoes erupting at a science fair.... Danger lurks everywhere, and not a firefighter to be found.... Ted knows it is time to become Firefighter Ted. It's the least a helpful bear can do.
